Elke is a clinical psychologist with over 13 years’ experience working in the NHS and independent sector. She completed both her PhD and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. Since qualifying in 2004, she has worked with both working age and older adults and has a special interest in dementia and later life.
Elke provides neuropsychological assessments for people concerned about their memory and cognitive functioning, as well as post-diagnostic psychological interventions to maximise quality of life. In the NHS, she works for a Memory Assessment Service where this is an integral part of her role. She also offers therapeutic assessments and interventions for a range of difficulties such as depression, anxiety disorders, bereavement and stress. For this work, she primarily draws upon the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
In addition to her clinical work, Elke is an examiner for the Salomons clinical psychology doctorate course and enjoys supervising clinical psychologists in training. She has travelled extensively, including spending one year living in New Zealand, and enjoys choral singing, sewing and spending time with her family.
